Thesis Draft Requirements

Your draft should include all sections, from the literature review to the methodology. Please ensure you:

  • Clearly state the methods you are using.

  • Explain why you selected these methods and how they relate to your research problem.

  • Describe your research process and data collection approach.

  • Outline the overall workflow and any design‑led processes (if applicable).

  • Discuss any challenges encountered.

  • Present analysis conducted so far and initial conclusions.

  • Use APA referencing for all in‑text citations and your reference list.

  • Include evidence of research in the appendices, such as documentation of practice,  field notes, interview scripts, or an extract of your research diary.

Please name your thesis draft file using your full name and student number.

Poster Exhibition Submission

As part of this formative stage, you must also submit the following to the same Google Form by 15th Jun at 12:00 noon:

  • A2 visual poster representing and communicating your research

  • A4 abstract (200–300 words)

Note: The posters are planned to be held online via Teams (Link).

The poster exhibition and peer review session will take place on Wednesday, 24th June, online from 2-4 pm.

Please name all your files (thesis draft, abstract, and poster) using your name and student number.

Supervisors and peers will be invited to this event to provide feedback. This submission is a significant milestone in your thesis journey, giving you the opportunity to receive constructive feedback and refine your work ahead of the final submission.

Take the time to review your work carefully to ensure clarity, coherence, and academic quality.

Please also refer to the thesis examples shared on Moodle for guidance, and find attached two guidance sheets on Thesis abstract writing and Poster Design:

  • Poster Design Guidelines

  • Abstract Guidelines

These will support you in preparing your A4 abstract and A2 poster for the upcoming formative submission and poster exhibition.
